HOW TO AVOID MIDDLE MEN IN THE CREATIVE INDUSTRY.

A Middleman is an intermediary or agent between two parties such as a dealer, agent or company intermediate between the producer of goods and the retailer or consumer, is one who is specialize in performing crucial activities involved in the purchase and sale of goods in their flow from producers to ultimate buyers and they typically do not make production of anything but possess extensive knowledge of the market thereby charging a commission or fee for their services.

There are two categories of middleman – Merchants and Agents.

One of the tenets of the internet revolution is having to do without the middleman. It remains to be seen whether it can upend the conventional order of the entertainment industry while it has worked for a range of industries. Delivering a work that speaks for the client is important to the middleman in today’s creative industry, because
often having too many middleman bring about the problem of miscommunication- involving in messages getting lost in translation or lost all together or in fact general discord, which none of this tend to reflect well on the brand.

Distributing contents or shows directly to consumers is what a number of startups now are hoping on because it is profitable, that way allowing them to keep the bigger share of whatever subscription or advertising revenue they are able to earn. Avoiding the middleman in the creative industry solves a vendor problem, as these content producers believe in the fact they are giving up too much of their profits or gains to the middleman-in such cases, the studios and networks. Consumers particularly do not care, as much as this may be true, all they truly want is to just watch their favorite shows.

Ways to avoid the middleman in the creative industry is by making full use of social media and the partnership it gives creatives. Social media is absolutely easy to use for marketing purposes if only you have the time and the staff capacity to run a proper campaign. It is a full time job that requires time and patience. A good social media marketing campaign is far more complicated than dropping a tweet everyday, it requires both a dedicated support team. Another way to avoid the middleman is to have a niche as a performer, provided they have an active social media fan base.

In conclusion, with the continues decline in live viewing numbers, it is expected that a great number of content creators should explore the direct to consumer model.
